"Delivering The Promise of RFID"
Barcode-IT helps clients view the coming changes as evolutionary in nature, and part of a predictable, step-by-step sequence of changes as RFID begins to play a larger role of coexistence with bar codes.
Our priority is to support customers need for best-in-class rugged Mobile Hybrid Readers. These Mobile Hybrid Readers are to withstand extreme conditions, applicable across multiple classes of trade. Yet product requirements for those readers are not mature, and must be developed utilizing multiple prototype testing cycles. Our alliance partnerships seek to develop and verify RFID solutions in conjunction with our clients current and future projects and applications.
Our Commitment to RFID Solutions
- Professional Grade EPC™ Mobile Hybrid Terminals
Industrial strength design elements maximize durability, minimize repairs, extend product life and offer the latest in mobile/handheld scanning technology suitable for high traffic environments.
- Support Open System Architecture – Best in Class
developing systems in collaboration with EPC™-compliant technology providers to assure best-in-class product offerings.
- Coexistence RFID and Bar Codes.
Bar codes will not disappear overnight. Even where RFID is in use, bar codes will be indispensable as a backup data carrier. We will support a mix of bar code and RFID-tagged shipments with a single device that connects to legacy infrastructure and emerging systems.
We are working with our printer partners ( Datamax - Printronix - Zebra ) to offer European/UK approved RFID label printing, combined with our NiceLabel Suite barcode and RFID labelling software solution (www.barcode-it.co.uk/labels). This allows the labels to be printed with a very powerful barcode labelling package, capable of full integration with host Data Systems such as SAP, BAAN, Sage, Navision etc and encode the RFID tags when connected to RFID enabled Thermal Label Printers.
Printronix (www.printronix.com) and Datamax (www.datamaxcorp.com) are both offering RFID ready printers to accept reader/encoders conforming to the new European specifications. This allows companies who are thinking of using RFID technology in the near future, will be able to
In addition, our data capture technology, currently based on barcodes, is fully scalable to use RFID tags, when running on RFID enabled hardware such as portable data terminals and computers, with integrated or cable attached RFID reader and scanners.
With the
standards group ETSI announcing it has granted spectrum approval for the RFID technology in the UHF frequency, we expect to be offering CE approved RFID scanners and portable terminals within the next few months.
With the technology in place and the European RFID specifications agreed, or sister division Barcode-IT (www.barcode-it.co.uk) will be offering fully integrated WMS solutions and bolt-on RF Data Capture applications to meet current and future customer requirements |
